Do you have a budding artist, or would you like to coax one of your kids into trying art? –
It is important for children of all ages to have hobbies, and furthermore, a quality education should include a wide range of experiences for children, including art. Besides the fun crafts our kids make over the years, some quality art lessons, led by a qualified artist, are a good way to stretch children in a new way. It is also a confidence booster when children finish a piece of art that can be displayed in your home, and it can be a healthy way for children to express themselves throughout their teen years.
Years ago, I went to a home school event that had vendors set up with various booths with interesting teaching tools. One of my favorite finds ended up being an online art class for students. The teacher is a studied artist who helps guide your children step-by-step as they create amazing finished art projects. It is for children from age four through adulthood, and I found it a blast to create art with my kids through the art lessons. The program has different kinds of projects to select from if you buy the yearly plan. They list the supplies you need for any particular project, and you collect them before the video lesson. I found that regardless of the skill level, the projects turned out really nice and something to be proud of for years to come. I framed the boys’ art, and I still have it in our house.*
Try out this FREE lesson to see if it is a good fit for your family. Creating a Masterpiece offers a free online art lesson so your family can make sure you are interested before buying the art lessons.

For the free lesson, you will need soft pastels. You can buy them at any art store, but here is a link to a set on Amazon for your convenience. If you choose to use the link, Amazon will give me a small compensation. I appreciate you supporting our blog and research.
Cost. I would recommend contacting them about the pricing, and I believe my cost was about $125 for the year with multiple lessons and projects included. I think it was for a homeschooling discount, so be sure to ask if they have any discounts available. The name of the art school is called Creating a Masterpiece and can be found here: https://creatingamasterpiece.com/
●Group Discount. For groups of 15 kids or more, you can receive discount pricing of $35/student, which can be found here: https://creatingamasterpiece.com/groups/
I’m sure there are other good options for art lessons, but my family had a good experience with this one, so I can recommend it to other families. Happy art creating!
*If you’re like me, you love to display your children’s art, but it’s hard to find a place for it before you know it. Recently, I came across a product that I would have loved to have had when my kids were younger. You can load the frame from the front with your child’s latest creation, and it will hold a lot of your child’s art. A great solution! I hope you’ll check out the link to help your family display art in a manageable way. If you use the Amazon link provided, you will get the same low price, but Amazon may give me a small compensation. Thank you for supporting our blog and research in this way.
Blessings,
Jeanne
